Language filtering for rooms and users
We launched language filtering for rooms and users!
You can find the most active and popular rooms in different languages and also get the list of most popular and active users by their entry languages.
Let’s see this new feature in action.
Here is the most popular Turkish FriendFeed users (users who write mostly in Turkish).
Also, here is the most popular rooms in Italian.
Have fun!
Room search for FriendFeed
I bet it was the feature you’ve been waiting
FriendFeed Room Search is live on FFholic (aka FriendFeedHolic).
Example: Rooms search for keyword “FriendFeed“
Most discussed FriendFeed entries. No, it’s not most liked or most commented ;)
We launched a new feature called “Most Discussed Entries”. It is not most liked or most commented ones. With this new feature we find and track the most discussed and most meaningful conversations.
If you are one of those FriendFeed users who do not like cat photos or fun stuff, then you should check out the most discussed list for deep conversations.
You can check this new cool feature here.
Analysis of Robert Scoble’s “The most “techie” FriendFeeders” List
Today Robert Scoble published his hand-picked list of the people who provide the most interesting tech blogging/tweeting/FriendFeeding. And we performed some quick analysis on this list.
FriendFeed’s top buzz creators
There is always a buzz about something on FriendFeed and that buzz usually helps people or companies to get more popular on the internet.
Here is the top five buzz creators for some popular blogs and personalities on FriendFeed.
The list is created via “most liked entry search” of FFholic (aka FriendFeedHolic). In general this is the list of FriendFeed users who shared the most liked entries about a blog or person.

FriendFeedHolic room on FriendFeed… Join us!
We just created a room for FriendFeedHolic(s) on FriendFeed.
Please come and join us!
We’d like to meet our community and get your ideas about FFholic.com.
With love from our community: FFholic Toolbar!
Today, we received a Google Groups invitation mail titled as “FFholic Toolbar“. I was surprised and didn’t have a clue about it.
Then, I checked FriendFeed about the buzz going on about FFholic. I saw this entry shared by Zafer Gurel.
This is a toolbar for Firefox and helps FFholic users to search for users/entries and also get the list of most liked/commented entries with one click. As useful as Google Toolbar.
FFholic Team and I were really surprised and so happy to get the help of our community.
Zafer Gurel, the creator of FFholic Toolbar, is the co-founder of a Turkish software company called Advancity. They are specialized in e-learning solutions and develop LMS and online meeting software for the corporates.
Zafer is also the creator of the great screen capture and recording Firefox addon CaptureFox. You have to check out his company website and also the Mozilla profile.
Thank you for this useful toolbar and your help to grow FFholic! We love the Web 2.0 community and really appreciate your help!
If you want to give FFholic Toolbar a try, just go to Mozilla page of the addon and have FFholic right on your browser for all times.
Who follows who?
There is a new feature on FFholic (aka FriendFeedHolic) to see a user’s subscribers.
As you all know, FriendFeed doesn’t show a user’s subscribers but only the subscriptions. If you really want to know who subscribed to whose feed then here you go, FFholic has this feature.
Example:
Case: You want to know who is subscribed to Kevin Rose.
Solution: Just check out Kevin Rose’s FFholic profile. You will see the link titled “5139 public active subscribers“. If you follow the link you’ll get the list of his followers sorted by popularity.
We found this feature really useful, and hope you like it, too.
We have such a long list of feature ideas but we need to know what you really want to have. So, please share your ideas and request your desired features to have on FFholic!
Most popular user doesn’t mean the most active user
We just added a new feature to FFholic (aka FriendFeedHolic) to track the most active users on FriendFeed.
We calculate an activity point for each FriendFeed user and create the most active users list.
A user’s activity point is the sum of all of his/her comments, likes and entries (published in the last 30 days) multiplied by the point value of each.
Point value of each activity is as follows:
Comments: 4 points (If written to an entry other than yours)
FriendFeed originated entries: 4 points
Other entries: 1 point
Notes:
- Point calculation formula may be changed to better reflect user activity. Please share your ideas to improve our formula.
- Your comment, entry and like counts may not be exactly the same as those on FriendFeed.
So as you can see on the last 30 days’ most active users list, most popular users are not usually the most active users.
For example Robert Scoble; he is the most popular user with his total number of subscribers, but he is the 74th most active user depending on his activity point.
Also, Michael Arrington; he is the second most popular user on FriendFeed but it seems like he is not an active FriendFeed contributor. He is the 1534th most active user on FriendFeed.
But when we check Mona N, she is the 52th most popular user on FriendFeed, but also the 3rd most active user.
You can check out the most active users list here.
Search most liked entries by keyword
We just added a new feature to FFholic (aka FriendFeedHolic) which lets FriendFeed users search most liked entries by keyword.
Example:
Most liked FriendFeed entries about:
As you see, it is now easier to follow the buzz in the social media about anything.
We will be adding some filters to our entry search in the following days like “filter by time” and “sort by most commented”.
