Subscribe To Most Popular or Active Users via FFholic!
We just launched a new feature to let FriendFeedHolics subscribe to any user on FriendFeed. Now you can subscribe to users that you see in our lists, right from our website with the click of a button.
If you are new to FriendFeed, a Social Media Professional – or just willing to find interesting users, you’ll probably love this new feature.
Just go into FFholic.com, start browsing and if you find someone interesting, simply click the “Subscribe” button under the user’s profile photo. The system will ask for your FriendFeed user name and Remote Key. Once you enter that, you are subscribed to that user. Pretty simple. We keep your remote key until your session ends to make the process more convenient for you.
Note: If you are already subscribed to the user, nothing will happen and no action will be taken. And, we do not store your remote key in our database.
We are also working on a new design and great features to make FFholic a better and useful place. So, please if you have any ideas or feature requests do not hesitate to contact us via contact (at) ffholic.com
And we’re back
Our connection is stable right now and you shouldn’t have problem accessing our pages.
We’ve changed our IP, so if our pages are giving you a timeout or network error, try flushing your DNS, restart browser, or worst case reboot your computer.
We hope to keep the systems up and running.
FFHolic server under DDoS attack
As you may have noticed that FFHolic.com has been down for the last couple of days. Another site hosted on the same server is under heavy DDoS (distributed denial-of-service, 400Mbps right now) attack and that is crippling the network equipment.
It seems like a SYN attack with spoofed IP addresses, so it’s hard to identify the source and distinguish good packets from bad ones.
We are trying to solve the issue through our ISP and main service provider.
We’ll be back as soon as the issue can be resolved.
Unfortunately, we don’t have the redundancy that we wish to have right now, so moving on to another server is not an option at this time. We hope to have that soon too.

User subscription counts
About 3 days ago we noticed that the subscription counts of FF users were calculated awfully wrong.
We don’t know why exactly it happened but it would be more convenient for us to blame FF for it
What happened is, suddently all users started to show up as private. When a user goes private we delete their subscription information. When more than 70% of the users went private our counts started to go out of way.
We are in the process to gather the subscription information of users again, but it takes a while to fetch 100k users from the FF API.
We expect the numbers to back to normal in a few days.
We’re sorry for the inconvenienve this may have caused.
Update: I think we got the situation under control. If you notice some inconsistencies with your numbers please contact us.
Room search for FriendFeed
I bet it was the feature you’ve been waiting
FriendFeed Room Search is live on FFholic (aka FriendFeedHolic).
Example: Rooms search for keyword “FriendFeed“
Most discussed FriendFeed entries. No, it’s not most liked or most commented ;)
We launched a new feature called “Most Discussed Entries”. It is not most liked or most commented ones. With this new feature we find and track the most discussed and most meaningful conversations.
If you are one of those FriendFeed users who do not like cat photos or fun stuff, then you should check out the most discussed list for deep conversations.
You can check this new cool feature here.
